On Page SEO – The Leap To Google First Page

SEO or Search optimization requires a complete understanding of how Google's robots operate. Website owners know by experience that getting to first-page on Google's results is not easy at all. So as Google's indexing algorithms continue to evolve in complexity, we persist in optimizing our pages because we know it is vital for the success of our business.

First of all you select keywords and phrases that will convert your visitors into buyers. Remember that your success is measured by conversions not by the traffic you get on your landing page. Perhaps you are using keyword phrases right now that brings good traffic but get just a few sales. Not so good is it? A key phrase is popular when the competition uses it. If you find that 20 or more competitors are using the phrase, you found a winner, and you want to test it on a PPC campaign. Make sure to check the cache on the pages you are researching. An old cache means that Google is not finding that page. Google AdWords Pay per click is a sure and fast way to find the keywords and key phrases that you will use for your on page SEO effort.

Beside your accurate and descriptive content, you also make sure that your title contains at least one tested keyword and a convincing meta-description tag. You could say that when your landing page gets an 85% rating, your SEO job has been completed and you are free to undertake other facets of your e-business that may be waiting for your attention.

As time goes by, getting Google to work with you gets even more complicated, and as competition for top ten Google results increases, it will become harder and harder to get the privileged rankings. However the entrepreneur that keeps his-eyes eyes open and makes the necessary tweaks will usually get top results. …

Getting Your Site Indexed Before You Launch

I've noticed that most SEO articles focus on what to do after you launch your site. Those that do deal with preparing your site for launch usually discuss on-site SEO like keyword research and meta tags. What tend to be neglected is the advantage that you can gain by getting your site indexed before you launch. With a little planning and a few hours of work it's easy to be indexed by Google, Yahoo, and MSN before your site goes live.

The key to getting your site indexed in the big three is getting links pointing to it from sites that are already indexed. When the search bots crawl those sites they will inevitably find the link to your site and your site will be added to their index. Follow these five steps a month before you launch and you'll be a step ahead of the game.

  1. Register your domain name. You've been surprised how many people wait until the last minute to do this. The sooner you register your domain, the sooner you can get some quality links pointing to it and get it indexed.
  2. Put up a home page. Make a "coming soon" page with your logo, information about your site, and expected launch date. You can also add a form for people to sign up for email updates about your site. This starts building your email marketing list before you even launch.
  3. Start a blog and sign up for Feedburner. Put up a blog at http://www.yoursite.com/blog . It does not matter if you use WordPress, Blogger, or whatever blog platform you prefer, just make sure you host it on your site. Make a few posts about your site, what people can expect when it launches, and why your site will be unique. After your first post, sign up for a Feedburner account . Under 'Publicize' in your account make sure to sign up for 'Ping Shot'. This will notify blogging directories of your posts which hopefully will result in a few links to your site.
  4. Write a few articles and submit to directories. Regardless of what your site is about, there is certainly a topic related to your site that you could write an article about. For example, if your site is going to sell fitness equipment, you could write an article about how to build a home-gym. Or if you are going to rate and review new cars, you could write an article about how to shop for a new car. After you've written and proofread your articles, submit them to article directories like Ezine Articles and iSnare . Be sure to include a description of your new site and a link back to it in the resource box. Again, this should result in a few links to your site.
  5. Get a link from an indexed site. Steps 3 and 4 should result in some links from indexed sites which should then ensure your site to be indexed. But it can not hurt to get a

SEO Writing Definition – Get Answers Here for Better Understanding

Right now, there's definitely lots of information about SEO writing available in the online arena. Sadly, not all of them are factual. In fact, most of them are baseless and they are really confusing especially for people who are just starting out in this endeavor.

This is the reason why I am writing this article. Let me give you the right information to help you better understand what SEO writing is and what is not.

  1. It's not all about writing for search engines. Although the main goal in optimizing web content and articles is to secure better rankings on Google, SEO writing is not all about using keywords and optimizing your content. It's about striking a good balance between keyword usage and writing valuable content for your readers. You will not get the results that you're looking for even if your articles are properly optimized if online users consider them as garbage.
  2. Writing SEO articles does not automatically mean making money. Well, I am not referring to freelance SEO articles writers who can really make money by selling SEO articles to their clients. What I mean here is if you write your SEO articles and if you distribute them to directories, you will not automatically make money. These articles will not give you cash but they'll help in bringing traffic to your website. You will then need to convert these people to paying customers in order to make a sale and therefore, make money. So, do not be shocked when you're not making cash right after you've written and published SEO articles in the online arena.
  3. The rules of search engines can change. The rules of Google and other search engines when indexing web pages and articles can change any minute. What I mean is that what worked yesterday, might not work today. So, it's important that you always keep yourself abreast about these changes. Although search engines do not typically announce this, you can get updates by keeping in touch with other SEO experts. Just keep in mind that the main focus of search engines is to give online users valuable information and content related to their search. Keep this in mind and you'll certainly not get lost along the way.
  4. Using related keywords will help. Using latent semantic indexing technique will really help you secure better rankings for your web pages and articles. This is the process of identifying and using terms and phrases that are related to your primary keywords. These could just be synonyms. This will help you convince the search spiders that the keyword that you're targeting is really relevant to the content that you've written.
  5. Using more than keywords than what is allowed will not help. Overloading your articles and web pages with lots of keywords will not give you better chances of getting them to appear on top of relevant lists. The key here is moderation. The density of each keyword that you're using for each of your articles must not exceed 2%.

SEO or search engine optimization is the answer for your worries in turning ordinary to extraordinary website. Although millions of sites working online right now to prove their capabilities, SEO is for sure what they will lack if forgotten. SEO provides strategies to boost the integrity and level of content of a website. It does not make good looking website because of high definition graphical effects but will optimize a website the right way for search engine visibility. Many people make this mistake. They think that SEO is going to make their website better. This is not the case. Search Engine Optimization only increases the traffic to your website. SEO Consulting For Big Brand Companies – 16 Guidelines For SEO Consultants to Beat the Competition

While the basic principles of SEO strategies are the same for most websites, there are certain techniques and strategies on which SEO consultants need to emphasize more when optimizing big brand web sites. An SEO consultant when selecting between different SEO services for big brand websites should apply strict planning and proven strategies that must be tailored to the specific needs of every web site.

1 – Establish your Authority:

Big brand web sites must establish their expertise in the field they are serving. Authority is recognized by both human visitors and search engine spiders by proving that their websites are the source of valuable information in their fields. Big brand websites must contain many pages dedicated primarily to providing useful knowledge to their clients. It can be in the form of a glossary of terms, frequently asked questions or tips and advices to their customers. The content of these pages must be of high quality and perfectly optimized for different keywords.

2 – Create semantic theming and siloing:

It is vital to create semantic branding for big brand websites by rearranging their pages and their internal link structure to represent clear categories that can be easily recognizable by both human visitors and search engine spiders.

An SEO consultant should divide the pages of the website into categories or groups. Each category must contain pages with closely related subjects and keywords. For each category there should be an index page where all the other pages of the same category will link to and the category index page will link back to them. Each category index page must have at least 5 – 10 pages from the same category pointing links to it with different relevant keywords as anchor text for these links.

Each category index page will link to the home page and the home page will link back to this category index page. You can create cross links between pages of the same category, but not between pages of different categories.

This type of internal link arrangement will increase the topical relevancy of every page and improve its search engine rankings.

3 – Review and clean out pages that are off topic:

After establishing the theming structure of the website, review every page and rewrite it removing all information that is not related to the specific topic or category where this page belongs to.

4 – Number of indexed pages and content:

SEO Consultants should match the amount of indexed pages and their content in big brand web sites to the amount of indexed pages and their content in the competitor's websites. If the pages of the competitor's websites have 500 words each, you should not have only 100 words in each of your pages. Your competitor's websites will look more authoritative.

5 – On-page optimization:

Proper on-page optimization will put the most relevant keywords where the search engine spiders go looking. Use long-tailed keywords as frequently as possible in the different pages according to the semantic theming of …

How To Generate A SEO Report For Your Website

Generating an effective SEO Report is one of the most vital parts of whole SEO process. Before you start Search Engine Optimization you need to have a full report prepared for your website. You also keep in mind which reports you would like to generate.

Title Tag Report

Title tag is important not only from SEO perspective but also from readability aspect. Title tag tells us all about your web page. A page title is like a human name and provides us much valuable information about the web page. It is vital to know that the tile for each page should be different and shall be coherent with that page content only.
The title tag is enclosed in title tag.

Eg

<title> SEO, PPC, SEM, Search Engine Optimization | SwamiSEO </ title>
Not that the main website name is added in the last (optional)

Meta tag Keyword Report

The keywords are unduly the most important part of the search engine optimization. The older search engine robots heavily relied on meta tags and keywords played a very important role in letting robots find out the information about a webpage. Most modern robots still rely on it but they now also utilize other methods to find out the most relevant page for any given keyword.

The keyword meta tag is enclosed in following element. Below is an example of keyword meta tag

<meta name = keywords content = "SEO, SEO Report, PPC, SEM, Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click, Search Engine Optimization">

There are no fixed guidelines for the number of keywords which you can include but obviously you should not end up in over utilizing this feature which can jeopardize your SERPS position.

Meta tag Description Report

Description meta tag is brief details about the page and it will be kept brief. An example of description meta tag.

<meta name = description content = "SwamiSEO is London based SEO Company offering Guaranteed top 10 position in search engines."> Body Text

All the content between

tags institute the body of any web page. This is the place where all of your main body contents is. It is noteworthy to remember that the search engine robots do not see the page in the same way as human eyes see. They read the page in an order. So the order of body text is also important and you should take care of it. A good SEO report will generate the body contents and should provide a description of it.

H1 tag

Some of search engines give importance to H1 tags so you should insert H1 tag which can be the main keyword of that page Also the placement of the H1 tag is important.

H2 tag

Although optional you should also check for the existence of H2 tag in the page Body.

URL

Although optional but choosing the URL for your website should be considered with utmost importance. If you've already got your URL registered then you can do nothing about it. But if …

SEO Industry and Miserable Failure

If you searched for "Miserable Failure" in Google, the top result returned was the official website of George Bush. You can rest assured; George was not sitting there tweaking the "meta tags" within his website to include that keyword term. In fact, I highly doubted the term "Miserable Failure" appeared within his website content anywhere.

What happened was that thousands of other websites started linking to George's website using the exact term "Miserable Failure" as the "Anchor Text" of the hyperlinks. Due to the nature of Google's computer algorithm – and the importance it places on incoming links (and specifically the extremely large amount of weight that theyave to "anchor text" at the time) – it started to recognize that this is what George's website was related to.

Sometimes it gained a # 1 position for this term linking linking alone. Pretty funny stuff really. There are quite a few well known instances of this happening. Another one was a competition between people within the SEO industry to see who could rank for "coolest guy on the planet". If you want more examples, just go to Google and type in "Google Bomb" however this should show you how important incoming links were (and still very much are) as a primary search engine ranking factor.

At this same time you could also use a specific search syntax in Google to see exactly how many back links any given website had, and specifically where those links were. Form an SEO perspective, it was dead easy to "reverse engineer" why the top ranking websites were ranking like they were. You could simply manipulate the keyword density of your content pages, and implement a similar link building campaign as close to the high ranking websites as possible. Hey presto – although it did require work – top rankings would not be far away.

As you can imagine, with the introduction of the importance of incoming links, experienced webmasters we're also able to "game" that to their advantage as well. The "Google Bomb" mentioned was a prime example of how this link ranking factor could be "gamed". However, placing more importance on incoming links as a primary ranking factor was the "lesser of two evils" in the way in which Google could rank websites.

It is easy enough for any old webmaster to manipulate the internal components of their own websites (keyword density etc). …

SEO the Waiting Game of Search Engine Marketing

As a professional Search Engine Marketer, I have tried every ethical optimization technique available to try to achieve top search results. Some work well and others do not show any sign of improvement in ranking once completed.

What I have come to realize is that search engine optimization and good ranking take diligence and lots of patience in achieving great Search Engine positioning.

You can have the right keywords, the right met tags, quality page content, great back links, and submit to engines regularly. There is not magic wand you can wave to see your listing suddenly blow your competitors site off the map and get you in that top spot.

A new site can take anywhere from 1-6 months to show up in the search engines with the right SEO techniques. Existing web sites can take anywhere from 1 to several weeks for the adjustments you made to show the new positions.

Each search engine will update its data at different times. Google may index your site data within a week after you make your adjustments and take another week to shift your position for the keyword. MSN may take 1-2 weeks to index your data and your update your new positioning. Yahoo can take up to a month to update you web site data and positioning. Be patient it will happen.

I recommend optimizing your sites with the time frame in mind. If you advertise holiday specials, then you need to optimize you specials page in advance to target the holiday keywords.

Your Search Engine Marketing Strategy should be part of your overall Search Engine Marketing plan. If you have available funds, pay for paid inclusion or pay the advertising for the keywords you wish to target while you are waiting for the natural placement to occur.

When you start to get great placement in the free ads area, turn off the pay per click ads for those words. Now you're getting free traffic.

Remember free placement does not happen over night. You have to be patient, do your work, and make sure your information is relevant to what you want to list for in searches. …

6 Search Engine Optimization Strategies

This is an article on specific SEO techniques for you to use to achieve high-ranking, first page search results in the search engines. I have written other articles on SEO and this is just one of those articles. Now let's get right into business.

  1. Utilize Meta Tags
  2. This involves putting keywords in the meta-tag box that are relevant to your article. It is important that the keywords are related to your content and should be popular keywords that people use when searching for what your post is about. It helps to achieve a high rank in organic search results in the search engines. The keywords could be one word or phrases but try as much as possible to make them short if you are using phrases, preferably not more than three-word phrases at most.

  3. Create Compelling and Valuable Content
  4. This is probably the most important part of SEO strategies. Now if you do all of the other things right and the visitor gets to your site and discovers articles that are best crap, what do you think is going to happen? He will not come back again! But if he learns something wonderful, it gets valuable information on how to solve a particular problem, he is going to advertise for you for free. Word of mouth advertising, free of charge! Now imagine what that is going to do to your business. Imagine the traffic it's going to bring to your site. The higher the value you create in your post, the more the traffic you get.

If you want to know if you have created valuable content, put yourself in the customer's shoes and ask yourself, 'If I were a customer, would I learn something really useful from what I have written here? Is it something I would recommend to my friends to check out? '.

  5. Update Your Posts Regularly
  6. Updating your post is as important as writing valuable posts. Why? If you get people to your page through useful posts and then they are excited. They come back again next time and they still see the same old posts they have read, why should they keep coming back? By not putting up new content, you are indirectly telling your visitors you are bereft of new ideas, that you have nothing new to offer, that you have stopped learning. I do not have to tell you what will happen to your site and your business when people start having such impression about you. So in other words: it's not enough to create a good first impression; you have to maintain a good reputation to keep your readers interested in you.

  7. Create a Good 404 page
  8. This is the page that appears when a visitor clicks on a link that is broken or that is not working on your site. A good 404 page redirects the visitor back to your home page. It could also direct the user to a related post on your site. The purpose of this is to

CC5 Overview – E-Commerce Shopping Cart Software Review

Could hardly contain the excitement with the long-awaited release and upload of the new CubeCart 5. The popular shopping cart software from Develion has long been a personal favourite for e-Commerce web design, as one of the most flexible, easy to use and stable of all the carts currently available

Upon installation the first change to notice is the new skins which come pre-installed and there are 5 in total. As with previous versions of Cube Cart these skins are not polished web designs, but offer a selection of layouts and colour variations which can provide a basic foundation to build upon. Essentially the core templates cover a range of layouts which your web designers can develop to present how you would like your shop to look and upon test drive, we found the new management of files, cascading style sheets and coding highly refined and easier to manipulate than CC4, while a professional working knowledge of the system is still required

The new control panel is a terrific addition to the backend administration area of CC5. Although functional in management terms, the previous versions had servilely lacked the cosmetic possibilities of modern design and presented shop data in way which required a custom re design and code development to achieve a layout, functionality which is better suited to some online stores. Virtually every aspect of store management can now be controlled in real-time via the dashboard and this shows at a glance statistics and notifications for orders, reviews and stock level monitoring

As with previous versions there is no limit to the amount of products and categories the administrator can upload and the management of items is far more simplified with new additions, such as a manufactures field and condition (new/used etc). From popular 3rd party installations to suit earlier versions, there is now a better multi category assignment, improved options and image management tools which was very much demanded. Pleased to see the layout of the admin sections is separated up into folders, delivering a simplified review/edit. It is much improved!

New CC5 can connect to Sage integration, this enables data to be exported and imported although we have not test driven this module as yet. The cart programming code is mostly PHP and declared to offer a better flexibility to extend the product in a variety of ways, thus improving the core CubeCart engine in which ever direction desired. Being open source the CubeCart web designer is free to develop the code, to customise programming to client specifications and even write your own plugins and modules

The programmers have improved upon CC’s search engine optimisation management by allowing custom search engine friendly URL’s to be input and customised to match the keywords and phrases which you may be targeting. In previous versions we had to custom build and install this feature, therefore we are certainly pleased to see this now integrated. Administrators can state the meta title, description and keywords which is essential for those taking advantage …
