BENGALURU (Reuters) – Indian online grocery startup BigBasket is in advanced talks to sell a majority stake for about $1 billion to salt-to-software conglomerate Tata Group, the Economic Times reported here on Wednesday, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

The century-old group has been planning to launch a “super app”, one that will tie in all its consumer businesses, several media reports have said, as it competes against Amazon AMZN.O and Reliance Industries RELI.NS, who have made big bets on India’s booming e-commerce market.

Bengaluru-based BigBasket competes with Walmart Inc-owned Flipkart and Amazon’s “Fresh” service as more consumers stay indoors and choose to shop online during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Tata Group and BigBasket did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for

AMD to Buy Chip Peer Xilinx for $35 Billion in Data Center Push | Technology News

(Reuters) – Semiconductor designer Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD)

said on Tuesday it would buy Xilinx Inc

in a $35 billion all-stock deal, intensifying its battle with Intel Corp

in the data center chip market.

The deal, which AMD expects to close at the end of 2021, will create a combined company with 13,000 engineers and a completely outsourced manufacturing strategy that relies heavily on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) <2330.TW>.

The two U.S. firms have benefited from a more nimble approach to grab market share from Intel, which has struggled with internal manufacturing.

AMD has long been Intel’s chief rival for central processor units (CPUs) in the personal computer business.

Since Chief Executive Lisa Su took over AMD in 2014, she has focused on challenging Intel in the fast-growing business of data centers that power internet-based applications and services and are fuelling the rise of artificial intelligence and

Phil Spencer Explains Why Microsoft Doesn’t Need You To Buy A New Xbox This Holiday

Microsoft’s next-generation strategy is not traditional. Microsoft kinda doesn’t care if you even buy a new Xbox Series X or S console because the company also releases its games on PC and mobile, while it also has Xbox customers on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has now shared some additional insight on this unique strategy.

Speaking to GameReactor, Spencer said Microsoft wants to create Xbox customers, and that doesn’t necessarily mean on a dedicated gaming console.

“Our high-level goal inside of our team, of how we measure ourselves, is how many people are playing on Xbox,” Spencer said. “And when we say ‘playing on Xbox’ it doesn’t mean an Xbox console. It means somebody who is logging in and playing a part of our ecosystem, whether first-party or third-party. And it could be on an Android phone. It could be on a Switch. It could be on

Apple Earnings Preview: When Jim Cramer Would Buy Stock

Apple  (AAPL) – Get Report will be reporting earnings later this week.

So, what should investors expect from Apple and when is it time to buy Apple?

First, let’s take a look at what analysts are expecting from the earnings.

“With regard to implications on the 5G cycle from the upcoming print, the focus will be on guidance, which we forecast to track above expectations despite understandable cautiousness driven by the limited visibility into sales velocity for the yet to launch iPhone 12 Pro Max and 12 mini. We remain positive on shares of Apple led by the combination of: 1) strong demand for both legacy and new 5G iPhones; 2) leverage of strong revenue opportunity through industry-leading innovation in Wearables; and 3) strong and resilient Services portfolio, benefitting from large and growing installed base of users; reiterate Overweight rating and Dec-21 price target of $150,” wrote JPMorgan

iPhone 12 MagSafe: what the magnetic gadgets are and which you should buy

Perhaps the biggest new feature the iPhone 12 phones bring is MagSafe, a small magnetic coil in the back of the phone that works with a range of different purchasable peripherals to improve your iPhone experience.

It’s an intriguing concept, perhaps reminiscent of Motorola’s Moto Mods or the current accessory pins found with Apple’s iPads. The iPhone 12 range hasn’t been out long enough for us to see how popular they get, but there’s certainly a lot of potential.

Apple’s initial applications for Magsafe are twofold: magnetic chargers that stick to the back of your phone, and clip-on cases that stay stuck to it, but as third-party manufacturers play around with the tech there’s a lot more they could achieve.

MagSafe has a lot in common with 5G in that respect; both are technologies in the iPhone 12 that’ll only get more impressive over time.
