2021 Ram 1500 TRX first drive review: Yep, we got it to fly

“Now, as you come around to the ramps, you’ll want to be doing about 55, 60 miles per hour,” my co-driver shouts over the roar of the engine while rocks and dirt blast the pickup’s undercarriage. “That’ll get you the best height and distance for the jumps and set you up to start braking for the next turn.”

Uh huh. Jumps. I’m behind the wheel of the 702-horsepower 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, one of the most extreme and overbuilt performance trucks Ram has ever produced. And as the wheels leave the ground and the cacophony is replaced with an eerie silence, I’m starting to understand just how insane this apex predator really is.

Heart of a Hellcat

Ram’s engineers followed a familiar formula: Take a popular Fiat-Chrysler product and dump the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 from the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats into the engine bay. Pat yourself

iPhone 12 review: One of our highest-rated phones of all time

05-iphone-12-pro-2020

Patrick Holland/CNET

The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are here and mark the beginning of a new generation of iPhone. Support for 5G, a new hardware design and camera improvements are a significant step away from the iPhone X generation of devices. This is nothing new. Apple did something similar in 2010 with the iPhone 4 and in 2014 when it released the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

There is one big difference with the iPhone 12 generation, though. It’s the first time there are four new iPhones at once: the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. If you want to go small and reap the benefits of a lower price there’s the Mini. If you want the biggest iPhone with the newest in iPhone cameras, get the Pro Max. But that leaves the 12 and 12 Pro which

Amazon Echo (2020) review: Small in stature, mighty in sound

Hardware and setup

The Echo and Echo Plus have had a consistent design over the years: a tall cylinder with a glowing light ring and buttons on top. This year’s speaker does away with all that; Amazon opted instead for an orb with a flat bottom. The volume, mic activate and mic mute buttons are all on top, as before, but the light ring now encircles the Echo’s base. I personally like the orb look, but it could be more polarizing than the old, innocuous design, not to mention the small pill shape of the Nest Audio speaker. On the Echo’s backside, you’ll find a slot for the power adapter and a 3.5mm audio jack, which works for either input or output.

Besides the orb design, the new placement of the light ring is probably the most controversial change. When you speak the Alexa command word, the light ring turns

Media buyers review 2021 upfronts

Last year, chief sales officer Rod Prosser appeared in a Carpool Karaoke segment with James Corden. This year, Ten stressed the importance of home. Its 2021 upfronts presentation opened with Amanda Keller as The Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy, flanked by her Living Room co-hosts – who were the lion, tin man, and scarecrow – and Osher Gunsberg as the Wizard of Oz himself.

Sizzle reels across Ten’s slate were used to illustrate the network’s ‘heart’, ‘brain’, and ‘courage’, but the segment used the ‘No place like home’ tagline to confirm that shows usually filmed internationally – The Amazing Race, Survivor, I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! – will be made in Australia next year.

The move gives the broadcaster some certainty in a COVID-uncertain world. As Chris Brown put it at the very beginning of the show: “Jeez, has 2020 been a write off or what?”

HP ZBook Create G7 Notebook PC Review- A Workstation For Prosumer Creators

Since 2013, HP has been offering mobile workstations under the Z Workstation brand, including the popular ZBook. Mobile workstations are becoming more popular for creators and gamers who need to game and create while on the go or away from their primary PC. This has been especially true during the time of Covid-19.

Thanks to more efficient processing, notebooks are getting thinner and lighter while still being able to pack in more CPU and GPU performance, which is essential for creative applications like video editing, 3D rendering, and more. I can recall when packing desktop performance into a thinner notebook form factor was laughable, but as new generations of mobile workstations come to market, it isn’t just possible; it is more real.

The newest mobile workstation offering from HP is the HP ZBook Create G7 Notebook PC. The system offers a 15.6″, 4K UHD display, Intel 10th Gen mobile processors,

Review of TextDrop, Online Writing Software With Dropbox Sync

As a blogger, I have been extensively using online writing software for the last 4 years. Although I have been using Simplenote until recently, I have always been looking for better alternatives. This review is about a new online software called TextDrop I recently found.

Before reviewing TextDrop, I need to share two most desirable features that I expect from good online writing software.

First, a seamless and fast synchronization with Dropbox.

Dropbox, a wonderful cloud service for file synchronization, is at the center of all my writing projects. All my blogs posts, memos, book plans are stored in Dropbox. therefore, any online writing software to be useful should have an ability to sync with folders of Dropbox.

Second, fullscreen mode for less distraction.

I am accustomed to using fullscreen mode on software like writeroom, iA writer, and Scrivener. A clean blank screen with no menus or other windows helps … Read More

The Buffalo Technology DriveStation Axis 1TB is a family of desktop external hard drives that offers high performance and easy-to-use storage. It easily connects to your computer for additional storage or backup of data files, video, music and photos. Buffalo has a feature-rich software suite of tools designed to boost PC performance.

The Buffalo Hard Drive not only stores and backups your data easily but it also transports various files, including huge multimedia files that are too large to fit on a USB key. Simply plug the hard drive into your computer and it installs automatically with Windows 2000, XP, or OS-X computers. Fanless Heat Sink Chassis design lets the DriveStation run cool and quietly.

The storage device may be placed vertically or horizontally on the desktop. There is no cooling fan, even though there’s clearly an empty space for one, so you’ll need to keep the disk in a … Read More
