Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University created a test called a CAPTCHA to tell the different between comments posted by humans and those posted by a computer. CAPTCHA stands for “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart.”
The most common type of CAPTCHA used features a series of letters and/or numbers that have been distorted in such a way that, although humans can clearly interpret them, computers cannot.
