TCSAR announces Backcountry Zero programming

JACKSON, Wyo. — With the summer adventure season right around the corner, Teton County Search and Rescue Foundation is excited to announce a full schedule of Backcountry Zero programming. 

From mountain bike essentials to hiking and camping in bear country to first aid for common injuries, these courses have something for kids and adults who want to get the most out of our glorious summers in Jackson Hole.

The workshops are intended to build backcountry safety skills and help participants recognize the importance of preparedness and decision-making. All courses provide hands-on learning in a fun, approachable atmosphere.

All workshops are held at the TCSAR hangar, located at 300 S. Batch Plant Road.

Brought to you by The Hub, these two What’s In Your Pack workshops for Mountain Bikers teach the must-know skills for hitting the trails. Learn how to fix a flat, repair a busted chain, and apply first aid to common biking injuries.  These events are a collaboration between TCSAR Foundation and Mountain Bike the Tetons.

What’s in Your Pack for Adults

Learn the best practices for traveling in the Tetons this summer. Professionals from various fields will be on hand to lend their expertise in trip planning, digital communication, bear safety, and first aid.  Thanks to Bank of Jackson Hole for their generous support of this workshop.

What’s in Your Pack for Kids

What’s In Your Pack for Kids is an excellent workshop for youths in grades 3-7. It is FREE to attend and includes a pizza dinner and lots of hands-on learning in a fun and welcoming environment. This class is possible thanks to the generous support of Architectural Stone + Tile.

Advanced Skills for Mountain Bikers

5:30-8 p.m.

Ready to take your biking to the next level? Join us for this Advanced Skills workshop sponsored by The Hub. This collaborative effort between Mountain Bike the Tetons and TCSAR Foundation will teach participants how to recognize and manage head injuries, do a general bike safety check, adjust your derailleur, and complete a suspension setup.
